NEED

Leadership Training

Dr. Gary Munson and Fire Over Africa has trained missionaries at its study centers in Ethiopia for the past 3 years. Students are gathered for 6 months of intensive training including both academic learning and practical experience. Students engage with the Lord through prayer, small group interaction, and impartation through the gifts of the Spirit. Dr. Gary developed the program that has trained 800 indigenous missionaries and brought more than 200,000 Muslims to faith in Christ. Graduates evangelize and plant churches in communities where there is little existing Christian witness. Now it is time to expand this effective program by partnering with Christians and ministries across Africa and Asia.

Missionary Sending

What we do

Fire Over Africa sends and supports African missionaries that are evangelizing and planting churches among Muslims and other unreached people groups in the Horn of Africa. Nearly 800 missionaries have been trained and sent through programs designed and implemented by Dr. Gary and well over 100,000 Muslims have found Christ through their ministry. We work with all denominations and missions sending organizations to support Africa being reached by Africans. Missionaries directly supported by FOA not only receive financial assistance, but are mentored under Pastor Dinberu and his team. Here s a report from Pastor Dinberu from June 2024: “My trip to (a Muslim area) was a success, your prayers have borne fruit. There were fourteen new Christians.”

Oromia Region, Ethiopia

BYDO is a registered local Civil Society Organization (CSO) that was established by Tsehay Tekle in 2009

•Her vision is taking care of HVC children and especially the disabled and needy, who are left without care and support due to the social, economic and health problems in the community

•Special Focus — disabled children that are culturally depressed and isolated from other healthy children

What Does BYDO Do?

  • Care for Children during the daytime by educational programs, feeding, and general care as needed by children participating in the program

  • BYDO currently provides regular care or support for 450 children, family, single mothers, and elders in their community

  • BYDO would like to add a greater capacity to evangelize the families of the children they help by a full time missionary. One of the missionaries we have trained to reach Musllim families. We would like to support one missionary to work with BYDO.

What would FOA like to do?

  • FOA is raising funds to cover as much of the annual budget as possible which will allow BYDO to expand their support ministry to more children and elderly who are currently desperate and without necessary care
